The legendary Joseph Barbera, who with his creative partner William Hanna was responsible for many favourite cartoon characters, has died of natural causes at the ripe old age of 95. The duo first made a name for themselves with their multiple Oscar winning Tom and Jerry cartoons, and went on to pioneer animation on television with Scooby Doo, Fred Flintstone, Top Cat, Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Josie and the Pussycats, Captain Caveman and Wacky Races, among others. Hanna died in 2001. |
