"Both strangely beautiful and beautifully strange." – Time Out
Container has been described by Lukas Moodysson as “a film about the little darling that lives inside all of us”. Poetic, experimental and different, it follows a reflective path into the life of an overweight Swedish man and the slim Asian woman who may be the embodiment of his inner girl. Starring Peter Lorentzon and Mariha Aberg and featuring the voice of American actress, Jena Malone (Donnie Darko, Pride and Prejudice).
Raising as many questions as it answers, Container was released alongside an art exhibition that was conceived and presented by the Swedish auteur.
Moodysson has already built a strong reputation with his previous body of work, including his incredibly moving realist dramatisation of people-trafficking Lilya 4-Ever, the sexually debauched Hole In My Heart, and feel good indie hit Together. But Container is truly a bold new direction, in which Moodysson blurs the line between film and art, touching on a diverse range of themes including celebrity, sexuality and identity.
