Adapted from the best selling book by David Nicholls, Starter for Ten stars James McAvoy (Chronicles of Narnia, Last King of Scotland, Shameless) in the central role and is directed by Tom Vaughan (Cold Feet). It also features Alice Eve, Rebecca Hall, Catherine Tate and Charles Dance and is produced by Sam Mendes, Pippa Harris, Gary Goetzman and Tom Hanks.
Set in the mid-eighties about a working-class kid (McAvoy) as he navigates through his turbulent first year at University. On his way to achieving his long-held ambition to appear on University Challenge, he falls in love with his beautiful teammate and forms a plan to win her heart through his advanced general knowledge skills. Starter For Ten is a charming coming of age comedy about loyalty, class, falling in love and the difference between knowledge and wisdom.
