Relive the terror of the spine-tingling horror The Omen just in time for Halloween, when, thirty years after the film was released in cinemas, the 1976 cult-classic is re-released by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. The Omen 30th Anniversary Special Edition, containing brand new special features, is released to buy on DVD on 23rd October 2006. Digitally remastered versions of The Omen sequels, Damien: Omen II, Omen III: The Final Conflict and Omen IV: The Awakening are also released on DVD on the same date.
For those of you living in a cave for the last 30 years, The Omen tells the tale of the seemingly innocent child Damien, who is adopted by Diplomat Robert Thorn (Gregory Peck) when his own son is stillborn. Unbeknownst to Thorn and his wife, their son Damien (Harvey Stephens) is the incarnation of a terrifying biblical prophecy. Born on 6am on the 6th day of the 6th month his birth signifies the beginning of Armageddon; the site of the final confrontations between good and evil.
As scary as hell itself, this is one classic movie, and if you haven't seen it (or like myself, not watched it recently) now's the time to start preparing for this Halloween's viewing!
