Last week saw some much-loved Sony Pictures Home Entertainment titles being nominated at the Girls On Film Awards in Covent Garden, London. These included Little Women and Zola for Ensemble Acting, Hustlers for Female Friendship On Screen and Eighth Grade winning in the category of Girls On Film Ally award for the creation of teenager Kayla Day, played by Elsie Fisher.
The first ever Girls on Film awards took place on Wednesday 2nd March. Girls On Film is the film review podcast from a female perspective hosted by journalist and co-founder Anna Smith. These ground-breaking awards reward excellence in the field of feminism, inclusion and diversity, female representation and the female gaze, including male allies who create complex female characters on screen.
Until 13th March, you can rent these much-admired Sony titles on Amazon Prime Video, through their 'Celebrating Women' collection. Many other titles will also be available on offer, such as Our Ladies, Kelly Reichardt's Certain Women and Elizabeth Banks' Charlie's Angels.
