The Worst Person In The World is the third film in director Joachim Trier's Oslo Trilogy, following Reprise (2006) and Oslo, 31 August (2011). Featuring the phenomenal rising star Renate Reinsve (Oslo, August 31st, The Orheim Company), Anders Danielsen Lie (Reprise, 22 July) and Herbert Nordrum, the film premiered in competition at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, with Reinsve winning the award for Best Actress. It has since been selected as the Norwegian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards, as well as being longlisted across three BAFTA categories including Film Not In English Language, Original Screenplay and Leading Actress.
The Worst Person In The World revolves around Julie, a vibrant and impulsive young woman who, on the verge of turning thirty, is faced with a series of drastic choices that force her to continually reinvent and pursue new perspectives on her life. Over the course of several years, Julie navigates multiple love affairs, existential uncertainty and career dissatisfaction as she slowly starts deciding what she wants to do, who she wants to be with, and ultimately who she wants to become.

Reinsve has said in response to her nomination: "It's a great honour to be nominated for a BAFTA, I am so proud and too excited about this. It's totally surreal and amazing. What an amazing list of actresses to be nominated together with. I am absolutely euphoric right now. I share all of this with the whole cast and crew especially Director Joachim Trier, he makes the whole set work very close and collectively. It was about finding events together with Anders Danielsen Lie and Herbert Nordrum, we all share this wonderful news for the film together."
