We've all known for some time Studio Ghibli really are the kings of the screen when it comes to animation. With hand drawn photo realistic backdrops, characters and characterisation to die for, and simple yet intriguing, compelling storylines it was only a matter of time they got the true attention they have so long deserved in this county.
Optimum Releasing are giving these releases their best shot... and with Porco Rosso, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and Pom Poko already out there - we can expect Laputa Castle in the Sky, Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle (watch this space for a competition!) and my personal favourite My Neighbor Totoro in the next month.
