Moira Shearer, the Scottish ballet dancer who starred in three of Michael Powell's cult films, has died. She had the lead role in Powell and Pressburger's The Red Shoes for which she is most famous, and also appeared in Tales of Hoffman and the notorious Peeping Tom, dancing in all three. Shearer only made a handful of films, but with The Red Shoes she made movie history. She presented the Eurovision Song Contest in 1972 as well.
