A leading man from the fifties to the seventies who never quite made superstar status, Anthony Franciosa has died aged 77 after a stroke. Once married to Shelley Winters, who coincidentally died last week, the volatile actor became just as well known for his offscreen antics as his onscreen ones. Cult fans will know him from A Face in the Crowd, The Long Hot Summer, The Swinger (with Ann-Margret), Across 110th Street, Death Wish II, Dario Argento's Tenebre and City Hall. |
