Horror fans planning to buy Anchor Bay’s extra-packed Region 2 double-disc DVD of Last House on the Left aren’t to entirely miss out on the scenes that have been cut from the release. Wes Craven’s gruelling classic has lost some 31 seconds to the censor’s scissors, but Anchor Bay have ingeniously including a ‘Forbidden Gallery’ on the second disc, where viewers can move frame-by-frame through the missing footage. Ironically, in June 2002 the BBFC only asked for some 16 seconds of cuts, but an appeal by Blue Underground (who own the UK rights) to the Video Appeals Committee has lost them a further 15. The DVD is out on May 26th.
