Cinema provides escapism, a chance to get lost in a story, to be taken to far away lands, be touched by fear, by love, by painful situations. It provides a safe space for people from the outside world, a social space for those meeting with friends and somewhere to catch forty winks in a dark room if you so wish.
The news this week that Cineworld will be temporarily closing its operations from Thursday and Odeon closing some venues during the week came as a blow and it is easy to assume that nothing is coming out. That is not the case. Between now and Christmas, there are tonnes of releases for all groups and ages to enjoy and to do so safely.
