David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet [read more]
  Crisis point
In a brand new clip released today from David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet, the legendary broadcaster reflects on the changes he has witnessed to the natural world during the course of his lifetime - and the loss to our planet’s precious biodiversity as a result of human actions. Watch the clip at the link above.

The clip features breath-taking footage of the natural world as Attenborough illustrates the intricate web of dependencies between all living things in order to sustain a healthy planet. "We rely entirely on this finely tuned life support machine", he explains, "and it relies on its biodiversity to run smoothly".

However, as footage cuts to a longstanding tree being demolished in the middle of a forested region, Attenborough states that the way we humans live on earth is sending biodiversity into a decline.

The film follows recent news from WWF's Living Planet Report that populations of mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians have declined on average by 68% since 1970; while at the same time the world has failed to hit any of its 20 biodiversity targets for the decade, according to the United Nations.

DAVID ATTENBOROUGH: A LIFE ON OUR PLANET HAS BEEN PRODUCED BY WWF AND SILVERBACK FILMS. IT WILL PREMIERE IN CINEMAS ACROSS THE GLOBE ON 28TH SEPTEMBER FEATURING AN EXCLUSIVE CONVERSATION WITH SIR DAVID ATTENBOROUGH AND SIR MICHAEL PALIN. IT WILL BE RELEASED ON NETFLIX GLOBALLY ON 4TH OCTOBER.
