The documentary Narciso em Férias (Narcissus off Duty) will be premiered as a special event on September 7th during the 77th Venice Film Festival. The film participates in the official Out of Competition section. Written and directed by Renato Terra (A Night in 67) and Ricardo Calil (Cine Marrocos), the film is produced by Uns Produções (Paula Lavigne) and co-produced by VideoFilmes. VideoFilmes, founded by brothers Walter Salles and João Moreira Salles and headed by CEO Maria Carlota Bruno, is the award-winning Brazilian production responsible for high quality films such as Central Station.
Producer of the film Paula Lavigne commented: "What led me to produce this film was the wish to make people aware of this story, which at the time could not be divulged because the press was censored during the military dictatorship in Brazil. Very few people know that Caetano was arrested and what he lived through during that period of our history. We had the opportunity to share his experience in film, so I invited Renato Terra and Ricardo Calil to direct this documentary. It is perfect to be closing our first deal with Globoplay, a Brazilian streaming distributor who has acquired rights exclusively for the Brazilian market." Click the link for the trailer.
