Her captivating lead performance in Perfect 10 (her first feature film) saw Screen describe the teenager as a "shining talent". Yet - on set she was having to take days off, and afterwards it was discovered that she had a stomach condition requiring a lifelong feeding tube. The operation to solve the problem is not covered by the NHS.
There's a happy ending: Via crowdfunding over £17,000 was raised for the operation and Frankie is competing again in gymnastics (she's a TeamGym British Bronze medalist). She has also taken on an acting agent.
Perfect 10 is the debut feature film of Eva Riley, whose short film Patriot competed for the Short Feature Palme D'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Try the trailer at the link.
