...is probably the nicest thing that will be said to most of us to mark another journey around the sun, but even if you're not that old, let us note that The Texas Chain Saw Massacre opened in, yes, Texas, forty-five years ago today. One of the great gamechangers in that classic era of horror to go along with Night of the Living Dead, The Exorcist and The Evil Dead, among many others, we wouldn't be here today without it and its fuzzy bootlegs. Now you can get it on Blu-ray or stream it in HD! That's progress. Raise a glass to the family, and to the late Tobe Hooper, who directed the thing. Or was that John Carpenter? No, wait, that was Halloween. Nurse! |
