GAZA a cinematically shot yet very intimate documentary, showing the reality of day-to-day life on the Gaza strip.
We see a teenage cellist playing in front of a coastal bombed building, we watch an off-duty lifeguard laugh with his friend as he water-skis past, its hard not to smile as we hear an impromptu sing-along in a taxi or to sympathise as the older generation bemoan their circumstances over their daily game of cards. Life appears somehow familiar, and yet very different, as we spend time in the company of locals.
And we are shook by bursts of violence, perhaps as unavoidable for the directors trying to show everyday life as it is for the people who live on Gaza.
Directed by Garry Keane & Andrew McConnell.
