Anchor Bay UK has a few gems due for release in the New Year. Best of all are two of Jess Franco’s late 60s De Sade sexploiters — Justine and Eugenie — which hit the street on January 27th. Both are uncut and carry Franco featurettes, and are well worth checking out for presences of acting gods Klaus Kinski and Christopher Lee respectively. The same day sees the uncut UK debut of Argento’s Tenebrae, with one of the director’s rare commentary tracks, Umberto Lenzi’s energetic 80s zombie shlocker Nightmare City, and the restored version Leon Klimovsky’s Werewolf Shadow, starring Paul Nashy and Gaby Fuchs. Further down the line, Dawn Of The Mummy, Terror Train, Vampyres, Hitch-hike and the two-disc Near Dark are all due for a UK release on March 17th.
