Love it or hate it, National Lampoon isn’t dead yet, although thankfully Chevy Chase hasn’t been seen for a while. The latest from the NL stable is Black Ball, a British-made tale of lawn bowls bad-boy Cliff Starkey, featuring such luminaries as Paul Kaye, Johnny Vegas, Vic Reeves, Tony Slattery and Bernard Cribbins(!), and directed by none other than the legendary Mel Smith. Check out the trailer and get a recipe for a Flaming Blackball. Don’t wait to get the bowls rolling though, because the DVD is out now. |
