Beackbeat: Collector's Edition set for January release
Backbeat – an energetic musical drama chronicling the pre-fame Beatles as they head to Hamburg in search of success - is coming to DVD in a special collector’s edition on January 25th. Directed by Iain Softley (K-PAX), it sees the “fifth Beatle,” bassist Stuart Sutcliffe, falling in love and having to choose between his best girl (Sheryl Lee), his best friend John Lennon and the best (allegedly) rock and roll band in the world!
Described as “defiant, raucous [and] erotic” by old timers' magazine Rolling Stone, Backbeat features a soundtrack from Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, Soul Asylum’s Dave Pirner and Mike Mills of R.E.M. This Collector’s Edition is packed with extras including character profiles, deleted scenes, a TV featurette and interviews with Iain Softley and Iain Hart.
Backbeat: Collector’s Edition is released on January 25th by Universal Pictures.
