I Don't Belong Anywhere: The Cinema of Chantal Akerman [read more]
By way of tribute
Lambert's film tenderly and intelligently observes Chantal Akerman in last year of her life during the shooting of her last film No Home Movie.
Astonishing moments include unedited footage from Akerman's camera which shows how she subtly, brilliantly shifted and refined the camera position to create the extraordinary framings that are the hallmark of her art.
The interviews Akerman gives are also among the most revealing she ever gave.
The film will be followed by discussion about Akerman with film-maker and curator Adam Roberts (of A Nos Amours), and film-maker Lisa Gornick (Do I Love You?, The Book of Gabrielle), chaired by writer and filmmaker Naomi Gryn.
