'Cream' staring Bruce Jones (Raining Stones, Coronation Street) written and directed by Asa Bailey, is to World premier and officially open the 1st UK Coastline Film Festival, in Colwyn Bay on the 13th of November 2015.
Cream is a kitchen sink social drama about the friendship between two retired service men, UK benefit cuts, and the state of the British elderly care system. After watching 'Cream' Ken Loach said “It's great to see Bruce and Jack on Such good form, they both perform with great sincerity and I really do wish this film the very best of luck.” (official quote supplied by Sixteen Films).
The film was written and completely self financed by the director as a truly home grown British film project. But to ensure its cinematic production values, Bailey did call on the aid of professional heads of department to come and shoot in North Wales and to work with his small crew of local film graduates and degree students. All living together for the duration of the shoot at the films primary location, the film took just 3 weeks to shoot.
Both Bailey and his DOP Keefa Chan are members of BAFTA Cymru and with the film securing a short cinema run in January the team intent to enter the 'Cream' for a Welsh BAFTA in 2016.
