Robert Wise’s hugely influential 1951 sci-fi thriller The Day the Earth Stood Still is out on March 4th. Highlights include a commentary from Wise and Wrath Of Khan director Nicolas Meyer, a documentary, a restoration comparison, six stills galleries and trailers. On the same day you can snap up Sidney Lumet’s bizarre but brilliant 1977 film Equus, starring Oscar-nominated Richard Burton, plus a double set of those much-loved sci-fi-ers Fantastic Voyage and Journey To The Bottom Of The Sea. A week earlier (Feb 25th) the eagily-awaited special edition of Who Framed Roger Rabbit bursts colourfully forth, with deleted scenes, commentaries, Roger’s cartoon shorts and a split-screen comparison, which presumably means you can choose to watch Bob Hoskins acting opposite nothing.
