  Fright flicks for your delectation
2015’s Edinburgh International Film Festival runs from 17-28 June. Within this year’s programme, there are a number of films which have a horror connection. Some of the highlights are:

Cop Car (International Premiere / screens in the 'American Dreams' strand)
A dark and brilliant B-movie starring Kevin Bacon.
Directed by Jon Watts and starring Kevin Bacon, Shea Whigham, Camryn Manheim, James Freedson-Jackson, Hays Wellford.

The Hallow (UK Premiere / screens in the 'Night Moves' strand)
Renowned music video director Corin Hardy’s fantastic debut feature is a terrifying excursion into a dark world of unforgettably imaginative, brilliantly realised horrors.

Hellion (UK Premiere / screens in the 'Night Moves' strand)
Multi-award winning director Bruce McDonald returns to EIFF with this horrifying tale of mayhem, madness, murderous evil munchkins and a young girl home alone at night. A Halloween horror at its best.

Maggie (International Premiere / screens in the 'American Dreams' strand)
Arnold Schwarzenegger stars in a zombie drama with an art-film sensibility.

Turbo-Kid (UK Premiere / screens in the 'Night Moves' strand)
A post-apocalypse action-horror romp viewed as if made in the 1980s, Turbo Kid is a gleefully bloody fantasy film and a brilliant retro homage to sci-fi / horror films.
Directed by Anouk Whissell, Francois Simard and Yoann-Karl Whissell and starring Munro Chambers, Laurence Leboeuf, Michael Ironside.
