On the other side of the wall, the sensitive young baker Omar becomes a freedom fghter who must face painful choices about life and manhood. When Omar is captured after a deadly act of resistance, he falls into a cat-and-mouse game with the military police. Suspicion and betrayal jeapordise his longtime trust with accomplices and childhood friends Amjad and Tarek, Nadia’s militant brother. Abu-Assad had an international hit with the flm RANA’S WEDDING which was selected for the Cannes Critics Week and went on to win prizes at Montpellier, Marrakech, Bastia and Cologne. His much-debated film PARADISE NOW won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film and was also nominated for the Academy Award in the same category.
