Professor Stephen Hawking, Vertigo Films and Channel 4 are proud to announce the UK Gala Premiere of Hawking opening the 33rd Cambridge Film Festival on Thursday 19th September. The very special evening will feature a live Q&A event broadcast via satellite link to over 60 cinemas across the UK and will be hosted by Channel 4’s Krishnan Guru-Murthy. The panel guests announced include Professor Hawking and his family and close friends including, sister Dr Mary Hawking, close friend Professor Kip Thorne and the film’s producer, Ben Bowie and director Stephen Finnigan.
Hawking is the extraordinary story of the world’s most famous living scientist, told for the first time in his own words and by those closest to him. Made with unique access to Professor Hawking’s private life, this is an intimate and moving journey into his world, both past and present. An inspirational portrait of an iconic figure, Hawking relates his incredible personal journey from boyhood underachiever, to Ph.D. genius, to being diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease and given just two years to live.
