The Arkoff Film Library brings to DVD the classic movies produced by movie mogul Samuel Z Arkoff. Arkoff was at the forefront of teenage exploitation movies and founder member of American International pictures who released many of their pictures through drive-in cinemas or as double bills in the 1950’s. Producing together with James Nicholson, they were surely the forerunners in the B-movie market of which many of the movies are currently making a comeback on DVD, many containing extra archive material as DVD extras and are highly collectable.
In 2004 the Arkoff Film Library concentrated on classic horror movies, this year they are releasing fifteen titles from a wide variety of Arkoff B-movie genres including Crime & Mystery, Horror & Fantasy and Action & Teenage Rebellion. All of these films are classic B-Movies from the 1950s, the golden age of the drive-in.
The first 5 titles to be released are - The Female Jungle (Jayne Mansfield's debut), Machine Gun Kelly (an early Charles Bronson starring role), Rock All Night, Shake Rattle and Rock, and Viking Women and the Sea Serpent, all to be released in the UK on 28th June.
