The Children’s Film Foundation Collection: The Race is On DVD [read more]
That elusive T-shirt available at last
Three more very British films from the much-loved and fondly remembered Children’s Film Foundation (CFF) are released together on 18 February 2013 in a new BFI DVD – The Children’s Film Foundation Collection: The Race is On.

A fresh-faced Michael Crawford – aged about 15 – stars in Soapbox Derby (1957), which features a go-kart race between two gangs – the Battersea Bats and the Victoria Victors. This action-packed adventure was filmed on location around Battersea, capturing a changing London. Look out for the Isetta bubble car!

In the imaginative air-borne tale The Sky-Bike (1967), a young would-be pilot convinces an eccentric inventor to get a flying machine into the skies and then cult favourite Sammy’s Super T-Shirt (1978), one of the most sought after CFF gems – which has had a petition for its release – is finally available to be enjoyed again by both original fans and a new generation. There's a clip at the link above, and they've created a limited edition replica of Sammy’s lucky tiger t-shirt to celebrate the film’s release, which will be on sale at the BFI Shop, BFI Southbank, next month.
