Irvine Welsh gets the star treatment
The World premiere of Irvine Welsh’s ecstasy will take place at the Ministry of Sound on Tuesday 17th April 2012, followed by a Q&A with Irvine Welsh, Director Rob Heydon and the cast.

After the screening, the club will be open to the public for an after party. The first stage of the line up includes Mark Knight, Darren Emerson, Utah Saints, K-Klass, Hybrid, Dillinja, The Freestylers, Dave Spoon and Angie Brown (Live PA), with many more to be announced soon. An appearance from Irvine Welsh on the decks is also on the cards, which promises to be a truly unique event. Tickets available from the link above.

Based on Irvine Welsh’s controversial book, ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance, Irvine Welsh’s ecstasy is a twisted tale that explores the euphoric highs and the devastating lows of a chemical romance. Directed by Rob Heydon and starring Billy Boyd, Adam Sinclair and Kristin Kreuk, the film also features sounds from some of the industry’s biggest names, including Tiesto & Mark Knight, Coldplay, Orbital, Primal Scream, Paul Oakenfold, Bonjay, The Mahones and Hawksley Workman.

“The cast and crew were inspired to support Teenage Cancer Trust after a cast member was diagnosed with cancer during pre-production. As a result of this personal connection, they have chosen to donate proceeds from ticket sales to Teenage Cancer Trust. Music is synonymous with Irvine Welsh’s film adaptations and we know it’s also a huge part of most young people’s lives, no matter what they’re going through. It’s fantastic that we can bring it all together to help transform the lives of young people with cancer in the UK. We’re extremely grateful for their support.” Teenage Cancer Trust.

Irvine Welsh’s ecstasy releases UK wide 20th April 2012.
