Tim Minchin, for Christ's sake [read more]
A new seasonal staple to topple Here Comes Fatty Claus
We got a message from the PR people today, which said:

"I am guessing some of you are aware of the Tim Minchin song that ITV have cut out from tonight’s Jonathan Ross show.

"Tim wrote the song specifically for the show and had it approved by compliance people, producers and lawyers who all checked the lyrics long before the cameras rolled and then ITV’s Director of Television, Peter Fincham, has decided to cut the performance for fear of causing offence. Needless to say we are all disappointed the clip won’t be shown on ITV and think it would be great if you could post it on your site or tweet about it at all in the meantime? Tim has posted it on his website and his YouTube channel and has a few words to say about this himself."

We weren't aware of that, and aren't sure what this has to do with films, but click on the link above to view Tim's Jesus song and see what the minor fuss was about. I suppose Tim did write that Matilda musical which had that film version of the book a while back. And there are plenty of Jesus movies. So merry Christmas and all that.
