Long Weekend on DVD [read more]
  A natural remake
Are you a fan of the original Australian 1978 cult classic? Do you have haunting memories of watching it through your fingers as a child? Quentin Tarantino apparently does - declaring "Long Weekend" to be "a timeless film".

"Long Weekend", coming to DVD in February 2010, tells the tale of an estranged couple who embark on a weekend camping trip in their native Australia in a last ditch attempt to save their already stranded marriage, but their disrespect for nature has serious consequences...

Directed by Jamie Blanks (Urban Legend, Valentine), scripted by Everett De Roche (who also wrote the original) and starring Jim Caviezel and Claudia Karvan -- the eerily atmospheric suspense thriller "Long Weekend" has the ability to turn your own imagination against you and will send chills down your spine...

It looks like Jim Caviezel is going to be hot property this year, as he has also been cast alongside Ian McKellan in the long-awaited and highly anticipated remake of the '60s sci-fi series The Prisoner. Click on the link above for the trailer.
