  Hannah Takes the Stairs
  Speak up
ICA Films is proud to present the latest new talent from the American ‘Mumblecore’ independent film scene, Joe Swanberg’s (Kissing on the Mouth, LOL) comedy Hannah Takes the Stairs is a whimsical look at young love and the trials and frustrations of starting adult life.

Hannah Takes the Stairs will be released on 27 April 2009 courtesy of ICA Films. Over the course of one hot post-graduate summer Hannah (Greta Gerwig) falls precariously in and out of love. A breaker of hearts and chronically dissatisfied, she finds herself drifting away from her newly unemployed boyfriend (Mark Duplass – The Puffy Chair) and drawn to her co-workers, Matt (Kent Osborne) and Paul (Andrew Bujalski – Mutual Appreciation).

Conceived without a traditional script, this triumph of improvisational acting was born from intimate collaboration between Swanberg and his cast, whichis made up of some of today’s most important up and coming independent filmmakers. Alternatively heartbreaking and hilarious, and featuring stunning naturalistic performances, Hannah Takes the Stairs is a delicate look atfriendship, ambition and the pursuit of happiness that heralds the return of a truly independent form of American filmmaking. Release date: 27th April 2009.
