Takeshi Kitano’s acclaimed remake of the Japanese classic Zatoichi has taken top honours at the Toronto Film Festival. The blood-splattered samurai epic won AGF People's Choice award, which Kitano can add to the Best Director and Best Film awards he won at the Venice Film Festival. Miramax have signed Zatoichi for US distribution.
