  Robert Altman's Gun [read more]
  A blast from the past
Never mind the 'furore' (yawn) about the poster for the Angelina Jolie movie Wanted. Complete glorification of the handgun comes with GUN (aka ROBERT ALTMAN'S GUN), a six episode series from the late 90's where a single gun is the star character and each story surrounds the different people who come into contact with the weapon.

Produced by Robert Altman, GUN features a blaze of stars – including James Gandolfini, Martin Sheen, Randy Quaid, Daryl Hannah, Kirsten Dunst, Fred Ward, Rosanna Arquette and many more. Each story is helmed by a different director - including Altman himself, Ted Demme, James Foley and Peter Horton – and the theme music is U2's version of ‘Happiness Is A Warm Gun'.

This two disc presentation from 4Digital Media is released on 20th October. Not surprisingly, the DVD packaging and all marketing is based around the gun – and it has a 12 certificate!

Follow these comical, tragic, tawdry and compelling tales of murder, adultery, betrayal and other sins all triggered, driven and sometimes resolved by the same handgun.
