Network is proud to announce the release of THE FENN STREET GANG – THE COMPLETE THIRD SERIES (Cert TBC) on 21st July 2008. The popular sitcom continues to follow the misadventures of Frankie, Duffy, Sharon and Craven after their school days. This release includes all eight episodes from Series 3, complete and uncut, RRP £14.99.
THE FENN STREET GANG was created as a spin-off to Please Sir! (also a Network release) – in response to the popularity of the latter – and aired from 1971 to 1973. The unruly students of the Fenn Street school are all grown up and striving to find their footing in life. Frankie (David Barry) must deal with a domineering mother, Craven (Malcolm McFee) finds it hard to get a legitimate job, and Duffy (Peter Cleall) struggles to cement his relationship with Sharon (Carol Hawkins). In this third and final series, key questions are posed: Is marriage the best course for Duffy and Sharon? Will Craven clean up his act? Can Frankie mould an independent life for himself?
Veteran television writers John Esmonde and Bob Larbey (also the creative team behind Please Sir!) manage to weave amusing yet credible coming – of – age storylines with sharp comedic dialogue, hilarious situations and incidents, making THE FENN STREET GANG a fondly remembered British sitcom.
