FROM THE LAND THAT BROUGHT YOU ‘‘TRANSFORMERS'' – HERE COMES THE REAL DEAL

From the creative team behind the groundbreaking CG anime "Appleseed" comes a brand new CG animated sci-fi feature that further pushes the boundaries of what viewers have come to expect from a cinematic revolution that has already amazed filmgoers through the works of animation directors such as Mamoru Oshii (Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence), Satoshi Kon (Paprika) and Hayao Miyazaki (Howl's Moving Castle; Spirited Away).

An action-packed, vividly rendered fantasy adventure featuring a pair of heroines who prove that the girls can kick ass just as hard as the boys, VEXILLE's mind-blowing visuals are further enhanced by the accompaniment of a pounding musical score by international DJ Paul Oakenfold (who also scored Appleseed) and tracks by artists such as Basement Jaxx, DJ Shadow, Underworld, Asian Dub Foundation, the Prodigy, Boom Boom Satellites, Dead Can Dance and M.I.A.

Directed by Fumihiko Sori (Ping Pong), co-written by Sori and Haruka Handa (Appleseed), and featuring the vocal talents of Meisa Kuroki (One Missed Call) and Akio Otsuka (Ghost In The Shell), the epic VEXILLE is a stunningly realized production. A veteran of the Digital Domain visual effects company and one of the key character animators on James Cameron's Academy Award winning "Titanic", Sori has focused his amazing talents on bringing to the screen a truly breathtaking spectacle that has unquestionably raised the bar as far as digital animation is concerned.

VEXILLE (cert. tbc) is released by Momentum Pictures and opens at selected UK cinemas on 9th May 2008. The trailer is at the link above.
