  Arthur of the Britons
  Vintage TV
Network is set to bring you this hidden gem of a television series, ARTHUR OF THE BRITONS – THE COMPLETE SERIES (TBC). This 4 – disc set is available to buy on DVD for the first time on 17th March 2008, RRP £39.99.

Instead of the grand court and elaborate costumes that one associates with chronicles of the Arthurian legend, HTV gives the viewers Arthur with a big slice of realism, but no less poetry. Twenty – four years old Oliver Tobias stars as Arthur, not a great King but simply the chieftain of a small Celtic tribe, who toils and works to unify all the Kingdoms and villages under one military command. He believes that only in unification could invaders be repelled effectively. The story builds upon his tireless pursuit of this goal. He is also strongly supported by his adoptive father Llud; Kai, a Saxon orphan reared as Arthur’s brother; Arthur’s cousin Mark of Cornwall; the Jute woman Rowena; and the Jute chief Yorath. There is no hero without a nemesis, and Arthur’s main rival is Cerdig, chieftain of the Saxons.

This series features unforgettable performances from Jack Watson (Kidnapped), Michael Gothard (Christopher Columbus: The Discovery), Brian Blessed (Flash Gordon) plus many more. With strong storylines written by creative talents such as Terence Feely (Space 1999) and Robert Banks Stewart (The Darling Buds of May), backed up by a rousing and outstanding theme by Oscar – winning composer Elmer Bernstein, this is sure to appeal to all who enjoys high quality television entertainment.
