British producer and founder of Tigon Films Tony Tenser has died aged 87. Forever of the opinion that most films could be improved with the inclusion of nudity, he had his first successes during the cycle of nudist films, then moved onto cult hits like A Study in Terror (the Sherlock Holmes versus Jack the Ripper thriller), Roman Polanski's Repulsion and Cul-de-Sac, Michael Reeves' now-classic The Sorcerers and Witchfinder General and The Creeping Flesh, among others. Roy Kinnear's producer character in sex comedy Eskimo Nell was widely believed to have been based on Tenser. Cult movie fans owe him a debt.
