British director John Schlesinger, who won an Oscar for Midnight Cowboy, has died aged 77. He directed many acclaimed dramas, both in Britain and Hollywood, including A Kind of Loving, Billy Liar, Darling, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Day of the Locust, Marathon Man, Yanks, The Believers, Pacific Heights and Cold Comfort Farm. |
