Global warming reaches deadly extremes in supernatural horror-thriller THE LAST WINTER – a chillingly terrifying film from acclaimed horror director Larry Fessenden, released on 6th August by Revolver Entertainment.
In one of the world’s most immaculate landscapes, an oil research team is working to exploit the rich oil resources of beautiful, untouched Alaska. After the death of one crew member a slowly creeping sense of disorientation gradually claims the sanity of the other team members, as each one succumbs to an overwhelming terror of an unknown evil.
This stealthy dread increases and peaks when a plane crash wreaks havocon the team, destroying their camp and forcing two of the members out intothe freezing cold on a desperate journey to find help. Alone in a rapidly unraveling world, they can never be sure whether they are being stalked by an invisible phantom or their minds are playing cruel tricks on them.
Writer, director, actor Larry Fessenden once again brings his own inimitablestyle to the horror genre, deftly tackling issues of environmentalism, addiction, class, fear and madness against the backdrop of sheer terror.
THE LAST WINTER follows his previous ‘horror films with brains’, NO TELLING, HABIT and WENDIGO, and brings together a stellar cast including Ron Perlman (HELLBOY, BLADE II), James LeGros (ZODIAC) and Connie Britton (‘Spin City’, ‘The West Wing’).
