  Sunshine on DVD
The sun has got his hat on
SUNSHINE - the sci-fi action adventure starring Cillian Murphy (28 Days Later, Batman Returns, Red Eye) and Chris Evans (Fantastic Four) – follows the story of eight astronauts as they embark on an ill-fated mission to the surface of the sun. The film, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Danny Boyle (Shallow Grave, Trainspotting and 28 Days Later), produced by Andrew Macdonald (Last King Of Scotland, 28 Weeks Later, Notes On A Scandal) and from an original screenplay by Alex Garland (The Beach, 28 Days Later) , is released on DVD for the first time on Monday 27 August.

SUNSHINE , also starring Rose Byrne (Troy), Michelle Yeoh (Memoirs of a Geisha, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Benedict Wong (Dirty Pretty Things) , Troy Garity (After The Sunset), Hiroyuki Sanada (The Last Samuri), Cliff Curtis (Whale Rider) and Mark Strong (Syriana) features a series of exclusive DVD extras, including a never seen before 'alternative ending' to the SUNSHINE story.

It is the year 2057, the Sun is dying and mankind faces extinction. Earth's last hope lies with the Icarus II - a spacecraft with a crew of eight men and women led by Captain Kaneda. Their mission: to deliver a nuclear device designed to reignite our fading sun.

Deep into their voyage, out of radio contact with Earth, the crew hears a distress beacon from the Icarus I, which disappeared on the same mission seven years earlier. A terrible accident throws their mission into jeopardy and soon the crew find themselves fighting not only for their lives and their sanity, but for the future of us all…
