William Marshall, the dynamic actor best known for his lead role in Blaxploitation vampire shockers Blacula (1972) and Scream, Blacula, Scream! (1973) has died aged 79. Marshall was a classically trained actor whose stage work during the 50s and 60s led to TV roles in the likes of Star Trek, The Man from UNCLE and Danger Man, plus an appearance in The Boston Strangler alongside Tony Curtis in 1968. The two Bracula movies made him a star, and his subsequent films include the Exorcist-esque Abby, Amazon Women on the Moon, The Fisher King and Maverick.
