Dead Or Alive Final on DVD [read more]
  Miike Mayhem
He's blown the world up and now he's back in the future for the final big bang. In a post-Apocalyptic world, society has become a totalitarian state, under the control of Dictator Woo, who strictly regulates birth control. Officer Honda is a hard-boiled cop trying to enforce the law. A renegade cyborg, Ryô, drifts from place to place and eventually hooks up with a rebel gang. With his superpowered reflexes and strength, he rescues one of the gang's sons from the cops, and then helps kidnap Honda's son. Battle commences between the two, destroying everything and everyone in their paths. Dead or alive, one of them will win.

Takashi Miike's DEAD OR ALIVE: FINAL completes his explosive trilogy with this deliriously mad, gritty sci-fi romp filled with gun-toting cops, giant robots, maniacal dictators, and a hot torrent of bullets. He enthusiastically borrows from a whole range of science fiction classics, with particular references to Blade Runner, The Terminator and The Matrix, as well as directors such as Kubrick and David Lynch., but it is also a crazy celebration of action movies too. However, he creates a wildly original leap into uninhibited imagination, the ultimate Good Guy-Bad Guy scenario, that's as unpredictable as it is entertaining. He's reunited with his two stars from Dead or Alive 1 and 2, Riki Takeuchi (also seem in Battle Royale 2) as Officer Honda and Show Aikawa (Ley Lines, Séance and Pulse). Already the world has ended twice before in Miike's hands, now it is going to be third time lucky. DEAD OR ALIVE: FINAL erupts on DVD with all guns blazing. Hope you survive the experience.

DEAD OR ALIVE: FINAL is available on retail DVD only (rrp £19.99), RELEASE DATE: 28th May.
