Now stuck in the 20th century future cop Jack Deth makes a living as a Private Detective, transported to the future he is sent on a new mission, to go down the line once more where a new trancer outbreak has begun. Can he defeat the evil menace a third time?
Just what is a trancer? The concept seems to change with every film in this cult straight to video franchise starring the always entertaining Tim Thomerson as time travelling law enforcer Jack Deth. This time round they're soldiers injected with an ability enhancing formula. Deth is obviously the one to put a stop to this; but it's hard to care as this second sequel is worse than Trancers II. Thomerson is surrounded with boring characters lifelessly played by subpar actors, even the appearance of a robotic sidekick is totally wasted.
Apart from a few well delivered quips there's nothing of value here, at least Trancers II had some sitcom style comedy with our hero caught between two wives. Trancers III is a lazily made effort in keeping with many of producer Charles Band's movie franchises. Everything that was entertaining about the original has been excised in favour of dull low budget action scenes. This one's for Tim Thomerson fanatics only.
