Homer's Rocket Could Shoot Off At Any Minute!
October Sky touches down this month
Coalwood, West Virginia, 1957 - high schooler Homer Hickham Jr. (Jake Gyllenhaal) feels he may be doomed to a life down the pit until he sees the Soviet satellite Sputnik streak overhead and is inspired to reach for the stars in Joe Johnston’s October Sky, a true story of hope, determination and triumph. With the help of his teacher (Laura Dern) and three buddies, Homer sets about building his own rocket, overcoming seeming impossible obstacles; poor education, a disapproving father (Chris Cooper) and the various misfires that come with building your own rocket.

October Sky: Special Edition DVD is “filled with humour, superb performances and classic rock ‘n’ roll.” Robert Butler of Knight Rider News Service enthuses, “You’ll laugh with it, cry with it and go away absolutely loving it.” And the DVD is filled with a variety of extras including commentary from Homer himself, spotlight on location and Aiming High: The Story Of The Rocket Boys.

October Sky: Special Edition DVD is released by Universal Pictures on January 25th
