The Long Hot Summer on DVD
  Ah do declare!
Hollywood legends Paul Newman (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid) and Orson Welles (Citizen Kane) star in The Long Hot Summer, a smouldering Southern Gothic classic, directed by Oscar nominated, award-winning Martin Ritt, which is set for DVD release on 19 September 2016.

Adding to the star power are luminous leading lady Joanne Woodward (The Three Faces of Evil) who met Paul Newman on set and went on to become his wife of 50 years, alongside Angela Lansbury (Murder She Wrote), Lee Remick (The Omen) and Anthony Franciosa (A Hatful of Rain).

In the small town of Frenchman’s Bend, Mississippi where life is dominated by elderly patriarch Will Varner (Welles) life is stirred at the arrival of drifter Ben Quick (Newman). Meanwhile, Will’s daughter Clara (Woodward) and son Jody (Franciosa) are a disappointment to him. When Will meets Ben, he sees in him the passion and drive that Jody lacks. He invites Ben to live with the family, and Ben launches a relentless campaign to break Clara’s desperate measures to prove his manhood - a situation that sparks both deadly danger and shocking revelations over the course of one long, hot summer.

This holiday, enjoy the sizzling heat of The Long Hot Summer.
